What Daily Muslim is, and what we are building
Daily Muslim started from an ordinary observation: the deen is lived in ordinary moments. The next prayer arrives in the middle of work. A verse comes to mind on a commute. A dua is needed at a moment nobody planned for.
The tools for those moments were scattered — one app for prayer times, another for the Mushaf, a third for dhikr — and most of them asked for something back.
What is in the app#
- Prayer times for your location, with Adhan reminders and home-screen widgets
- The Qur'an in several Mushaf styles, with translations, tafsir, word-by-word meaning, and recitation
- Hadith collections, dua and adhkar, and Islamic books in one calm place
- Qibla direction, a dhikr counter, and a Khatm tracker for a full Qur'an journey
For readers who want to go further, a word-study view shows how a verse is built — the root a word grows from — rather than only what it means.
The standards behind it#
Three commitments shape most of the decisions.
We treat Islamic content, user attention, personal data, and every product decision as a trust.
Calm over clever. An app opened before Fajr has no business competing for attention. Powerful tools should stay understandable and quiet, without turning faith into digital noise.
Built across languages. The app and this website are translated by volunteers — people who read carefully and argue about a single word until it is right — not by machine. Bangla and Japanese are live, and more are in the studio.
Offline where it matters. The Mushaf, prayer times, and your bookmarks should not depend on a signal, because the places you use them often have none.
What this journal is for#
This is where the team will write: what shipped and why, notes from the translation and volunteer work, and occasionally something worth knowing that has little to do with the app itself.
